Tata Motors India: Upcoming 7 New EVs and Compact SUVs
Sierra and Avinya: The Headline Models
Leading this new wave are two much-awaited vehicles — the Tata Sierra and the Tata Avinya.
- The new-generation Sierra will be the first to arrive, likely next month, and will come in both ICE and EV versions.
- The Sierra EV is expected to launch first, followed later by the Avinya, which will sit at the top of Tata’s lineup as a premium electric model.
The Sierra’s petrol version could feature Tata’s new 1.5-litre TGDI turbocharged engine producing 168 PS and 280 Nm, while a 2.0-litre diesel option may also be offered.
Sierra EV: High Range and Premium Features
The electric Sierra is said to offer two battery pack options, delivering a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. It will be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV, giving buyers a strong mid-range electric SUV option.
This launch will not only bring back an iconic nameplate but also showcase Tata’s latest EV tech and design language.
New EVs and ICE Models in the Pipeline
Apart from the Sierra and Avinya, Tata has several other models under development:
- Two new ICE models (internally called Product A and Product B)
- Two new EVs (known as Product X and Product Y)
These vehicles will cover different price points and body styles, ensuring Tata has a car for every kind of Indian buyer.
New Compact SUV: Tata Scarlet
Tata is also planning to expand its entry-level SUV lineup with a brand-new compact SUV, rumoured to be called the Tata Scarlet.
The Scarlet will reportedly take design inspiration from the Sierra, offering bold styling and modern features. It will likely slot above the Tata Nexon, filling the gap between the Nexon and the Harrier — giving customers yet another strong SUV option in Tata’s portfolio.
Tata’s Vision for the Future
With its upcoming lineup of seven new nameplates, Tata Motors is clearly preparing for the next phase of India’s car market — one that blends style, sustainability, and innovation.
From affordable compact SUVs to premium EVs, Tata’s upcoming models are designed to appeal to every kind of buyer — and cement its place as one of India’s most future-ready automakers.
